The Pittsburgh Emergency Medicine Foundation may grant a total of eight (8) scholarships as determined by the Scholarship Committee. The selection of students eligible to receive the scholarship grants shall be made by the Committee without regard to race, religion, sexual orientation, or their political perspectives. The Committee will only award scholarships to those applicants who are enrolled in the Center for Emergency Medicine of Western Pennsylvania, Inc. (CEM) paramedic and EMT programs.
The level of scholarships available to be awarded are as follows:
- Four (4) – $1,000 scholarships awarded for the Paramedic program
- Four (4) – $250 scholarships awarded for the EMT program
The Committee shall require, prior to the disbursement of any scholarship, proof that the scholarship recipient is enrolled as a student in the CEM program.
All scholarship grants shall be paid only to the education institution (CEM) and not directly to the recipient.
The scholarship will be used to reduce the tuition bill for the recipient and will be paid one half at the benetginning of the program and the remaining on half at the completion of the program.
